Beta terms
1. Who we are
Dilo is made by 1572612 B.C. Ltd., doing business as The Kode, a company in British Columbia, Canada. You can reach us at [email protected].
2. What the beta is
The app you are testing is unfinished. Things will break, change or disappear between builds. We may end the beta, remove a build or change what it includes at any time. Taking part gives you no right to the finished app, to any price or to any seat later. Whether testers receive anything after the beta is a decision we take later; nothing is promised here.
The beta runs until we end it. We tell you in the app or through TestFlight before we do.
3. The Spanish in the beta
The Spanish has been written by the team and checked by software; it has not yet been reviewed by a native speaker. A line may differ from what a Spanish speaker would say. Treat the app as practice, not as an authority, and tell us about any line that seems wrong.
4. Who can take part
You must be at least 13 years old. If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you must be at least 16. You need an iPhone that runs iOS 26 or later and Apple’s TestFlight app.
5. What we ask of you
Use the app as a learner would. Tell us what broke, what confused you and what felt wrong. Do not share the build, the invitation link or screenshots of unreleased features publicly until we say the beta is open; talking about your experience in general is fine.
6. Your feedback
Anything you tell us about the app, through TestFlight, email or a survey, we may use to improve the product without owing you anything for it. We will not name you without asking. If we publish results from the beta, they are anonymised and aggregated.
7. Your data
What the app collects and why, how long it is kept and how to delete it are in the privacy policy at speakdilo.com/privacy. In short: your audio stays on your phone, a record of your practice (which lines were right and how fast, never the words you said in a drill) goes to our server; the text of what you say in a roleplay goes to our server and to our AI partner (Anthropic) to write the replies and the corrections; roleplay transcripts are kept while Dilo is in beta; erasing your data from Settings while keeping your account is coming before the public beta; deleting your account from Settings deletes everything stored for it on our server; a tutor may read a sample if you opt in.
8. The oral check and surveys
At the end of a level the app runs a short speaking check. It is scored by the app, and a person may read the text of what you said to check that score; no recording is made or kept. Surveys are optional. Nothing in the beta is recorded.
9. No warranty, no liability
The beta is provided as it is, free of charge, with no warranty of any kind. To the extent the law where you live allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of an unfinished app. Nothing here limits rights the law gives you that cannot be excluded.
10. Ending
You can stop at any time by deleting the app and, if you want your data gone, your account. We can remove a tester who shares the build or abuses the service.
11. Changes and law
We may change these terms between builds; the current version is always at speakdilo.com/beta-terms. The law of British Columbia, Canada, applies, except where the law where you live gives you rights that cannot be taken away.
